There isn't any gimmicks. No compromise. No ballads? Find out more about the album and the songs. Here's the impressive Angry band: ANGERHEAD
How has the reaction to your latest CD been? Reaction has been all positive. The Motörhead cover of Iron Fist really has been receive well too. It's great to honor a legend like Lemmy and have his fans appreciate it. It's a big bonus when that happens. How long did this CD take to make from start to finish, recording-wise? We recorded it on and off for a few months. we all have day jobs that can be hectic so we work around them when we can and got it done. What kind of 'sound', production wise, did you have in the back of your mind, prior to entering the studio? This is our second time with Juan Urteaga producing. We love what he did the first time around. He knows what he is looking for and we let him do his magic. What kind of input did the producer have during the process? Juan let's the band run with our vision. It's really nice. But, if we hit a snag or need an opinion, he always has some great input. It's like a push, we don't want to hit a snag. He keeps the metal moving forward at all times. And are you pleased with the final outcome? (sound - production wise) We are. We chose some older tunes and some new ones on this one and they all seem to work just fine. We aren't a band that relies on or uses a lot of studio tricks. What you hear in studio is what it will be live. I guess we are old school in that regards. I personally don't like seeing a band that can't pull off what they did in the studio. Little add on's here and there are ok but when it's oblivious a drummer or guitarist can't do what the record does, it's a let down. Did the producer use any (weird) experimental miking and/or recording techniques? You know, as I said, we are a band. 4 guys playing instruments. There isn't any gimmicks. It worlds for other bands, that great, but for us it's stripped down punk thrash metal. When you hear us live, it'll sound like the studio. There isn't much difference other than a live engineer can make drums or bass sound a little different, but not enough to where you wouldn't instantly know it's Angerhead. Please inform us about your favourite songs and lyrical highlights and why? I really like Legacy Of Hate. It's by far our longest song. It has an old Exodus type feel I guess but the lyrics really hone in on the craziness that happening, and that has happened in recent years. Angry, heavy, intense, pissed off at stupid people pretty much sums up what we are "Angry" about. id the record company interfere with anything on your "sound" and songs? We are self produced, want to keep it that way for the time being. Any 'crazy' behind the scenes anecdotes from these sessions that you can share with us? Lots of Mexican food, beer and greenery. How would you describe the sound of your new CD to any potential new fan? Punk thrash hardcore metal Does your music get affected by time? Nope. not at all. we all agree from the start that our music had to be heavy, no pussy shit, and come the metal souls we are. Who are your influences and heroes? (music-wise) Bay Area metal thrash scene. Testament, Exodus, Slayer with some DRI and Suicidal thrown in for good measure.
