MTM 2000

MTM 2000 - what's up with one of the leading melodic rock labels

The MTM news editor Ove G. sent us an A to Z rundown of their artists and plans for the year 2000. Here it is , with some added information!

Alfonzetti - The album is being recorded at this moment. It'll probably see the light of day in may.

AXE - Bobby Barth and Bob Harris are hard at work writing additional songs to pick from for the new upcoming studio album which will be recorded during the first parts of the new year. The two Bobīs want the new Axe to be so perfect and will make sure that they get the album just the way they want.

Bad Habit - There is a compilation cd coming on Virgin during the first part of next year from Bad Habit, which includes the rare mini album the band released on Sony + some rare b-sides, demos and japan only songs. As for a brand new album, the band is still deciding upon it....If you want to push the guys and give them some feedback please mail MTM your messages. A little help from the melodic fans always help !!!

Big Bad Wolf - new album on the cards from MTM. The band will start recording sometime next year.

Brian McDonald - The album is being mixed at this moment and will be released mars/april next year.

Carl Dixon is as we speak compiling material to chose from for the new album he is to make for MTM. Expect the album to be very much in the Coney Hatch "Friction" direction, sharp edged melodic rock with big powerful hooks and Carl's soaring melodies. Songs much defentive to appear on the album incl: Dont Believe It's Over (co-written with Stan Meissner), Better Believe It (a Jimmy Davis written tune), Goodbye To A Good Thing (co-written with Marc Ribler), If Love Could See Me Now, Fools Paradise, Dont Turn Out The Lights (co-written with Brett Walker) and Take Some Time. Carl is still writing for the album and there are possibilities for some contribution from Rik Emmett on the album.

Danger Danger - just prepare yourself for the bands upcoming new album "The Return Of The Great Gildersleeves". A masterpiece of record which without a doubt kicks off the new millennium in a superb way. Dont miss out on it when its released by end of Ferbuary !!!

DIVING FOR PEARLS - singer/songwriter Danny Malone just recently hooked up with producer DAVID PRATER to start preparations of a comeback Diving For Pears album. Malone has since the demise of DFP worked with Cars guitarist Eliott Easton in the band "Band Of Angels", but also with the more modern rock/pop band "Dunnaways".

Euphoria - didn't set the world on fire even if the Don Cromwell project was getting some good reviews and cool feedback and at this moment it isn't very likely that there will be a future for this... However Don is now hard at work with his main band Ransom and the new second album from the band is scheduled for a early summer release next year.

Fergie Frederiksen - has been writing songs for the next album which will see this amazing singer take a harder edged direction. Several songs been written and more is to be done. The album hasn't been scheduled yet and the whole project is still at a very early stage.

Friction - The Ricky Phillips' project is set for release in May 2000

Guild Of Ages - a new album will be recorded during the year from the Denver 4 piece. The band will however take good time in preparing material and it's also been on the subject that they might be co-writing some material with outside writers. Singer Danny Martinez talked about solo project will be on hold and the next Guild Of Ages album will be the main focus for time being.

Heavens Edge - The first stage of planning has started as to see the next studio album happening from this excellent 5 piece. Guitarist Reggie Wu and his gang are preparing a strong dose of melodic rock extasy.

Ignition is the working name for a new swedish project which MTM is overseeing at this moment. Watch this space for how this proceedes. We can gurantee that the final result is to be a wet dream for the devoted melodic hardrock freak. We will for time being be very secret about it all as it is still taking shape.

Jimmy Lawerence - it's been seen to read at various websites that Jimmy Lawerence been dropped by MTM. That isn't the case and we have discussions with Jimmy about the future and discussion about the direction on the possible next album. Jimmy has been preparing as to do some co-writing with some various well known US songwriters to get some red hot material.

Kharma - The debut album is very close from being completed and it's without a doubt an album that we here at MTM are mighty proud of. The album is scheduled for release by end of March.

Loud N Clear - A much talked and raved about band which eventually during year 2000 will release their first properly produced album. Singer Jess Harnell has been rated as one of the best singer out of LA for years and prepare yourself for ride to seventh heaven when this California combos album is ready to hit the streets.

Mark Spiro - One of the melodic rock worlds best songwriters ever (just look at your Giant, Bad English or House Of Lords album for proof) and a superb artist in his own way. Spiro will much likely do a new album for MTM in late 2000. This is still to be confirmed and set. You however have the chance to enjoy Spiro's magic earlier than that with the songs he co-wrote on the upcoming MTM project: Friction (the Ricky Phillips project) which is set for release in May 2000.

One On One South or 101 South if you prefer that. That's the new side band project from Roger Scott Craig of course known as the keyboard player and songwriter in Harlan Cage. The recordings is already all done and the album will be mixed in January with a release to follow sometime in the spring... A must record for anyone into stylish and qulaity pomp-ish AOR.

Project: Slamer-Thompson have cut approx. 6-7 song demos for their MTM album and they have a dozen of song ideas that they are looking into. One of next years absolute top releases...MTM guarantees!!!

Raine - another one of our new young sensations that are preparing themselves to set the world alight during next year with their debut album. Violinist Mark Wood makes appreance on two of the songs on the coming album. A spring release is planned for the album.

Riverdogs - A new signing for MTM. Rob LaMothe, who's recently been working with his solo albums and recieved lot of praise for it, is recently hard at work with long time sidekick Nick Brophy on new songs for the Riverdogs album, which will be in the same vein as the band's debut album. 4 of the songs that were featured on the Live album released from the band will much likely be featured in strong and cool studio versions...

Steelhouse Lane - a third album is projected for the fall/winter of 2000.

Storyteller - the LONG awaited album from this 5-piece band will see the light of day in mars/april.

Stun Leer - you can expect a new album from Doug Howard & co on MTM.

Tower City - It's not definitive yet but there might be a new album coming from Larry Saltis and his gang during year 2000. The band has been discussing the possibilities and there is on the cards that there might be an album recorded during the first half of next year which will be like the natural sequence to "A Little Bit Of Fire".

Unruly Child - Bruce Gowdy and Guy Allison have been doing some writing and will continue putting song ideas together.

Von Groove - Returns during the first half of the new year with their third release on MTM titled "Driving Off The Edge".

Brett Walker - new album "Lift Off" is set to be released on January 24th.
