Seventh Calling - this is how they are described on their Facebook page: "Well written and executed HEAVY METAL with some hinges of thrash, a bit of classic metal, and a hint of old school ANTHEMS... " We sent out our questionnaire and they answered the call...

1. How has the reaction to your latest CD been?

"It seems that people like the music that has been playing online for some time now and we are very happy about that. Hopefully the reaction will be good when the CD is released"

2.How long did this CD take to make from start to finish, recording-wise?

"Once we went into the studio, the recording only took about 6 days to do all of our parts".

3.What kind of 'sound', production wise, did you have in the back of your mind, prior to entering the studio?

"The hope was to have better production than on past CD releases. Our feeling is that we have achieved that with this CD."

4.What kind of input did the producer have during the process?

"Very good input actually on suggestions. He helped with the lyrical structure in places and also in the guitar with additional suggestions. It was a pleasant experience".

5.And are you pleased with the final outcome? (sound - production wise)

"Yes we are happy with it."

6.Did the producer use any (weird) experimental miking and/or recording techniques?

"Nothing like that really at all I would say. Just a good solid collection of microphones!"

7.How did you go on about capturing your 'live sound' in the studio, or perhaps you didn't?

"We had scratch guitar and vocal tracks for the drummer to play with to begin. So once he was done with his part of the recording we went after and added all the guitars and vocals".

8.Please inform us about your favourite songs and lyrical highlights and why?

"That is a hard one there. I like all of them! I would say Perfect Silence is one of my favorite songs. Then Fate's Hammer is another. Perfect Silence is about a time when I woke up in morning's and the only thing I would hear on the news where I lived was about people dying for no reason over things like shoes, or a new relationship and there was no help from any of the police in any of these items. Very sad deal. Now with Fate's Hammer, I wrote this one with a battle of heavy metal in mind. Leading the charge of heavy metal against all non-believers is what I would say is the meaning of the words in this particular song. A theme that rings out strong in other songs on our CD also."

9.Any overall theme of mood that you're trying to capture while writing songs?

"No not really. Just the mood of Heavy Metal throughout the record is our goal or theme with this CD".

10.Does your vision for coming up with music get affected at all by time?

"Yes time and life I would say. It is hard sometimes to find the time to write new music when you have so many other things in life that take your time as well. You really have to be dedicated to it."

11.Did the record company interfere with anything on your "sound" and songs?

"No we had no trouble on this CD with that".

12. Are there any 'crazy' behind the scenes anecdotes from these sessions that you can share with us?

"Ha! No unfortunately nothing really crazy. This time we were just down to business."

13.How would you describe the sound of your new CD to any potential new fan?

"A sound that harkens to the traditional Heavy Metal style".

14.Who are your influences and heroes? (music-wise)

"Oh there are so many! Here we go.. Judas Priest, Metal Church, Mercyful Fate, Vicious Rumors, Primal Fear, Iron Maiden, Slayer, Testament, Saxon, the list just goes on and on"!

15.If there's anything you'd like to add, say, please do:

"Ok please check out Seventh Calling on FB at seventhcalling and watch for our new CD BATTLE CALL available June 1st on Itunes, Amazon and many more plus hard copy available also! Keep the Heavy Metal Faith Alive!!S
