[27th June 2002] COCONUTROAD.COM

The main focus of CoconutRoad.com Unsigned and Independent Artist site is to get each artist promoted one-at-a-time to as many as a million people a year interested in their type of music so that they can sell enough of their MP3s to be able to earn a living doing what they love to do, write music. If this is YOU or someone you know, PLEASE GO TO THE FOLLOWING WEBSITE! http://www.coconutroad.com/press

I NEED YOUR SUPPORT!
Musicians will never be able to earn a living, until people are willing to BUY their music. My unique tactical approach to this is going to center around garnering national and international press, letting them know that I will be visiting colleges nationwide and am enlisting the support of INDIE musicians at those colleges to facilitate a "Phil Donahue" type of “interactive awareness raising”. It will drive home the point to the NON-musicians in the audience that stealing music hurts their boyfriends, girlfriends, brothers and sisters who are trying to earn a living at it and have to do miserable jobs to support themselves like moving furniture or driving a taxi cab. I want the audience members to see those musicians face-to-face, standing up in the audience and listening to their hardship stories, so that they can directly see the impact of how stealing music affects us all on a personal level! THIS IS BOUND TO BE THE MOST CONTROVERSIAL, TALKED ABOUT ISSUE FOR SOME TIME TO COME! BE A PART OF IT!

Having said this, I am looking to attract as many quality unsigned and independent bands and singer-songwriters as possible to join together and "spread the word" until we achieve our goal of converting college kids from stealers into buyers.

RUNNING TIME: 37 MINUTES
MUSIC STYLE: GOTHIC METAL
RELEASE DATE: 10TH, JUNE, 2002

TRACKING-LIST:
1. The World Today 2. A Dead Season 3. Gray Singer 4. Squeeze 5. The Fire Inside Me 6. Absent 7. Shape In The Shadows 8. Cast Aside 9. When The Ghosts Are Gone

OVERVIEW:
After playing in many bands the guitarist & vocalist Miika and bass-player Matti R. decided to start a new band in January 1999. Mika Rissanen was asked to play drums, and later Juha Patrikka joined to play lead guitar. At that time the band was named FOUR BITCHES and they made 2 demo CD's. In the 2nd demo they began to find your own style, the music was developing into more melodic and "darker" material. In spring 2000 Mika had to move to another town, but luckily they found an excellent new drummer, Janne. In summer 2000 Matti Hämäläinen replace Juha. So, they went to the studio to record 3 brand new songs. Jenni Hytönen from Janne's former band came to play keyboards. During the studio days they created the new name, GRAYSCALE. The new promo was out 11/2000, sounding very melodic & anguished. Finally they were sounding like they had thought they should sound. In January 2001, the band signed a two album deal with Sound Riot Records. At that time they also decided to take Jenni as an official member, and started rehearsing and composing new songs for the album. Also, they got a new vocal, Lasse Harma to do the most the vocals in the band. He sings the clean parts while Mikka does still the parts that need a "rawer" interpretation. With the hightest budget at Sound Riot, it was recorded at LaLa Studios and mastered at Finnvox with well-known producers. The atmosphere on the 9 songs of "When The Ghots Are Gone" is dark and desperate yet, soft and catchy. Finnish Gothic Metal in its best! Terrific, full of melody and emotion in a haunting sidewalk through the cold hearts of these musicians, a music with an easy access to enter in the soul.

[8th June 2002] RIK EMMETT & JOHN TAGLIERI LIVE TOGETHER

A Legend And a Rising Star Showing The Bottom Line of Independence!

NEW YORK, NY (June 5, 2002) - Kicking off the July 4th Independence Week on a high note, legendary guitar virtuoso Rik Emmett and rising NJ singer-songwriter John Taglieri will perform an intimate acoustic evening at the Bottom Line in New York City on Tuesday, July 2nd, at 8:00 p.m. This marks Emmett’s return to New York after more then a 15 year absence and Taglieri’s first performance at the venue.

Emmett is one of Canada's most respected musicians -- an award-winning guitarist, multi-talented singer, songwriter, and a producer with his own independent recording label. As a founding member of Triumph, his blazing guitar solos and trademark vocals helped push the Toronto-based trio into multiple gold and platinum sales worldwide in the '70's and '80's, and earned him a spot in the Canadian Rock Hall of Fame. Guitar Player Magazine once described Rik as "one of the only guitarists out there who may be too talented for his own damn good!"

With eight solo albums under his belt in various musical flavors, and 2 more on the way, Emmett continues to impress and intrigue critics and fans alike with his versatility and the volume of quality material he produces. "When a one-trick pony starts turning into a horse who can change colors, that's something," said Emmett. People go, 'that's interesting.' Even critics and journalists look at it and say, "That's kind of cool and different.' The styles range from Jazz to Classical, Folk to Blues, and straight-ahead Pop/Rock. The shows are intimate. "It's kind of like MTV's Unplugged, in that I'll sit on a stool, play music, and tell stories," said Emmett. "It's great, because I can play some of the songs I want, whether they're blues, jazz, or classical."

This performance will be the U.S. CD Release party for not one, but two new CDs; "Handiwork," an all-instrumental Jazz CD, and "Rik Emmett "The BEST OF" which includes freshly recorded solo versions of "Hold On," "Lay It On The Line," "Suitcase Blues," and fan favourite "Middle Ground." The "Best Of" CD is being released as part of Universal's successful 20TH CENTURY MASTERS series.

Warming up the crowd for Emmett and having just finished wrapping up a 45-date nationwide tour, John Taglieri has been working hard to promote his current CD, “Leap Of Faith”. Signed to indie label A2 Records, he has seen great success in the last year with fantastic press, solid CD sales and a steadily growing fan base. Getting ready to head back into the studio for his sophomore effort, Taglieri will be promoting the lead single, “Angels Among Us”, off his next CD “What It Means”, which is due out in September.

"A talented guy...I like his voice!…This is a great album!" said Todd Pettingill of the Scott & Todd Morning Show on WPLJ Radio about Taglieri. "…a diverse blend of catchy pop rock songs infused with the pure emotion of John's remarkable voice." said Deann DiNardo of Steppin' Out Magazine. Taglieri’s live show is filled with emotion and power, with catchy songs that should not be missed!

This is the first time that these two dynamic performers will share a bill and it will definitely be a night to remember. The Bottom Line is steeped in a long history of bringing the very best of the best to the masses. The list of performers that have graced it’s legendary stage read like a who’s who of the music business, with many long careers being launched from it’s illustrious stage.

[4th June 2002] MORNING WOOD TO BE RELEASED IN EUROPE

From Westworld's Forum:

Post from WW's webmaster (3-6-02 22:43 EST):

From Tony (Harnell):

A deal is in the works to release the Morning Wood album in Europe through Escape Music. It should be signed sealed and delivered within the week. There are plans to release "Not Scared Anymore" as a single. The response for this album over the years has been overwhelmingly positive and it's really cool to finally have it released outside Japan. We'll work on something for the US as well.

When things develope more, we'll be sure to post them.

A later post from Tony Harnell himself (4-6-02 0:49 EST):

The deal is done folks! We'll let you know when there's a release date. For those of you in the States I know it doesn't mean much, but it's a very hard to come by album and this should make it loads easier.

Love to everyone,
Tony
